The new paints finally arrived, including a rattlecan of Army Painter Barbarian Flesh primer to make faces & skin easier, as well as a bottle of AP Soft Tone to compliment the Strong Tone in the Starter Kit.
Grom
First up, I thought I'd get the most use out of my skin tone primer. I picked Grom because he's barely clothed which meant he'd be a quick paint. I wasn't wrong!
Here he is compared to my first three heroes. His skin tone is much healthier, he probably spends a lot of time in the sun.
Kanga
Next I chose Kanga. Her dark skin tone would be a bit of a challenge, but instead of mixing it with my limited palette, I decided to darken it down with a wash. I used Soft Tone, and it got a little splotchy in some places, but overall I'm happy with the color it produced.
However, unlike Grom, Kanga has a lot of surface area and tiny details. Her hair took a fair bit of time. Also, her spear was my first attempt at NMM (Non-metallic metal).
