Seth
Seth was a little tricky. His card art is much darker than the others, as if he were in a cave. I imagine this was to accentuate to light from his wand. I chose to brighten up his colors for the model, and make my first attempt at object-source lighting (OSL).
Below you can see a few work-in-progress shots of him. I overdid it with the green lighting on his face trying to hit all angles the light would touch.
I reset to his pale skin tone and tried again. This time with more focus on only covering the nearer half of his face.
I also tried a new technique of highlighting green with yellow, instead of white. The greatly helped the glow feel, instead of just lightening the color.
Hobsbawm
For Hobsbawm, I ended up using more wash than usual. I painted his robes dark with Necromancer Cloak, then highlighted the edges with a nearly white Reaper Skeleton Bone. Then it would all get washed down with Dark Tone, which didn't make much of a difference on the robes, but blended the highlights much smoother. It was an interesting technique.
If you look close, you can see I left a dark splotch in the corner of one of the pages of his book. He should know to never eat tacos while you're handling sacred texts.
Not much else noteworthy about this guy, except I did enjoy highlighting the tip of his nose. I also noticed I didn't get a picture with the base painted and card in the background, but here we are.
