Arcadia Quest Heroes: Spike

 Spike

Halfway done! With the exception of Shelly and the Orcs, I've got half of my work done and half ahead of me. Onto Spike the Dwarf.

Another Round of New Paints

It's not an addiction if you can stop at any time. At least that's what I tell myself. The new Reaper paints are great, and I've found them to be generally much thinner than Army Painter, but time to expand. It's back to Army Painter this time, a few well-reviewed colors and their Matt Varnish to protect my minis.

Cheap and Functional Paint Storage

I just received this case from eBay, and is a definite upgrade from my dining tray storage solution. The astute among you might recall seeing it in the background of some of my previous posts.

The Mighty Paint Boat

It was very affordable compared to the actual miniature painting cases. It holds 60, and is very portable. Since I don't have a dedicated hobby space, it's nice to pack all my supplies and store it for the night.

You can search eBay or Aliexpress for "essential oil storage case" or some variation of that. They come in varying sizes, I went with 60 because the price point seemed reasonable and 60 paints is a lot of colors. It should be enough for me. Update: It wasn't enough. Go bigger.

I store all my extra brushes and supplies in the top, but to keep from digging through the pouches, my main brushes get tucked in between rows of paints and are held snugly in place.

Arcadia Quest Heroes: Greensleeves & Diva (Plus 3 Surprises!)

Greensleeves

The elven archer. I love his facial expression. The highlighting on the clothes took a couple of attempts, but I got it to my satisfaction. I trimmed his bow, quiver, and tunic with metallic gold. The hair color is not quite right, not vibrant enough, and the wash with Soft Tone made it look dirtier than I wanted.
